based on holistic/no force grooming methods
- A health check (identifying health problems which owners otherwise miss)
- Bathed with appropriate coat/skin shampoo
- Coat conditioning spray
- Hand drying with a low velocity blast dryer, finish dryer or brush dryer. Whatever the dog will accept. If no dryers are tolerated, the dog will dry naturally. (No cage/cabinet dryers or hoodies used and I do not fluff dry (stretch the coat).
- A brush and comb out
- A clip, scissor, thin or hand strip.
- Scissoring as necessary (face, tail and paws) - as above.
- A de-shed on double coated breeds.
- Anal gland expression (if required/accepted)
- Sanitary clip
- Nails trimmed/grinded or the use of a scratchboard plus an ear clean (if required and trimmed if necessary). No plucking is conducted.
£30 per hour unless hand stripped.
Hand stripping is a specialised skill and charged per dog starting from £65 for a Border Terrier

Lock's Puppy Package
based on holistic/no force grooming methods
This package introduces your puppy to the grooming environment. It helps to get them accustomed to a grooming salon setting, where equipment that is utilised every day is run in the background. This practice will allow your puppy to get used to the environment at their own pace.
- Puppy initiation to the salon and equipment
- Your puppy being bathed with puppy shampoo
- Introduction to salon drying
- Brushes and being brushed
- Nail clipping/grinding
- Pad trim
- Ear cleaning
- Eye cleaning
- Sanitary trim
- Hand stripping introduction on appropriate coats.
- £100 for 4 x 1 hour sessions i.e £25 per session.
If there are elements to the puppy groom that the dog is still struggling with after the 4 sessions, additional sessions will be discussed with the owner. A dog will not go forward to a full groom until I'm satisfied it is "groom ready" with enough desensitisation.
Puppies should see a groomer after they’ve had their second set of vaccinations, please wait 7 days after the vaccination for your puppy to become safe to visit the salon.

Lock's Desensitisation Sessions
- 1- 1.5 hour sessions to help counter condition dogs who are fearful of grooming in a relaxed setting.
- Designed for dogs who are not keen on handling or are touch sensitive.
- Caters for fear aggressive, bite reactive, anxious or nervous dogs or ones that have been trigger stacked and been groom refused elsewhere.
- Using techniques such as the bucket game, nail scratchboard, A.C.E Freework and Tellington TTouch.
- £30.00 per hour
