I can't recommend Cherie highly enough. She was so kind and patient with my Spaniel who (for various reasons) has become quite nervous about being groomed. I am really pleased with my dog's new look and received several comments at training this morning on how smart she is. Also, my dog has really taken to Cherie and keeps trotting off towards Curload if we head off down the river on a walk.

Anyone who wishes to get their pooch groomed, I can wholeheartedly recommend Lock's Dog Grooming in Curload. My 12 year old spaniel Joe has come home so relaxed and looks wonderful! Cherie works around your dog so they are very well looked after. Joe was taken for a stroll along the riverbank, had breaks between treatments and even had a snooze. I need to add that Joe has some bad allergies where he breaks out in sores and scratches. I have found shampoo that has cleared this up and keeps on top of it, and Cherie was more than happy to use this instead of her own products. She is very accommodating and a complete star! We can't thank Cherie enough for agreeing to groom our old, disabled 15 1/2 year old dog Kiera. She has severe arthritis and struggles with her mobility; many other groomers would not be willing to take her on. Cherie's calm, gentle approach made Kiera feel completely comfortable and happy. She worked around Kiera's complex needs allocating plenty of time, minimising her stress and allowing breaks when needed. I would wholeheartedly recommend Lock's Dog Grooming. Thank you Cherie.

Absolutely fantastic place to take your dogs. Was really nervous at how my 2 would react as they are both rescues, and I've never taken them before and don't know their history. They have come back completely different dogs and look totally different and smell lush! Was lovely to know that it's not a 1 in 1 out system and that I didn't have to rush to pick them up, due to working and could collect when I've finished. They have been very spoilt today. Have booked them in again to be done. Will definitely be recommending to everyone I know with dogs. Don't just use anyone who is a 10 minute "qualified" dog groomer - go with someone who takes their time and care's for your dogs as their own.

Jackson and Cherie have had a soft spot for each other since they met. Cherie is very professional and has amazing attention to detail.

They both met out of chance while I was carrying out some work for Cherie. Jackson has been relaxed and excited to see Cherie on each visit. Just today, he somehow managed to jump out of the van before I did and straight into the well setup salon.

If you are after a very friendly and great experience for your fluffy friend, I can’t recommend Lock’s Dog Grooming enough. Well worth the travelling distance if you are slightly further afield.

When I arrived to pick up Max & Winston they were SO relaxed and happy. I thought they’d be scrambling to get out … but no. Winston carried on playing with his tennis balls and Max, once he’s said hello to me, lay back down and had another little snooze. It was so much better than I’d hoped for.

They hadn’t been rushed; your policy of ‘however long it takes’ and only one dog/dog family per day illustrates that you really do keep the welfare and happiness of your dogs at the heart of what you do. This is no ‘get ‘em in, get them out, next please’ service - this is a service totally centred around an individual dog’s needs, and I commend you for sticking with this principle and not putting profit over Dog welfare.

For anyone reading this - this is what exceptional dog grooming is all about.

I can’t recommend Cherie enough … and will be doing so to every dog owner I meet.

I took my dog Bryn to Cherie for his first time with a groomer and I was really impressed by Cherie's approach to grooming! I was nervous about it as Bryn doesn't like to be brushed, but with the aid of sausage bites and loads of patience, Cherie managed to tame his dreadlocks, give him a bath, and other attentions like ears and paws. At the end they were obvious friends. I would highly recommend Lock's dog grooming, Cherie is super nice and very skilled!

Having put him at ease the moment we walked through the door, she went on to explain what would happen during his time with her, and how her bespoke service differs from others. With two sensitive Tibetan Terriers, finding a groomer that really fully understands and practises the dog centred, holistic approach has been like striking gold! I have taken my nervous Cockerpoo to four other dog groomers in the past, and this is the only one that both me and my dog have been happy with. Cookie is a very nervous dog and, at first, she would get quite upset when going for a groom with Cherie. But Cherie has taken the time and care to really get to know Cookie and build her trust, making her feel completely comfortable. Now Cookie charges in to greet Cherie with excitement, which says everything! As a dog owner, it’s not often you feel 100% confident that your dog is being genuinely loved and looked after when you leave them somewhere. With Lock’s Dog Grooming, I absolutely do. Most importantly for me, Cookie isn’t tied by the neck or belly bands like you often see at other groomers. Everything is done at Cookie’s pace, and if it becomes too much, Cherie will always stop. That level of patience and compassion is priceless. I honestly can’t recommend Lock’s Dog Grooming enough!
