Tellington TTouch® & Ace Freework®
Tellington TTouch® is a method of training, that honours the body, mind and spirit of animals and develops trust between humans and animals.
The Tellington method deepens the relationship with your dog, improves behaviour, enhances performance, supports health and well-being and fosters learning. Developed by animal expert, Linda Tellington-Jones, PhD (Hon), this method is based on co-operation and respect.
TTouch is widely accepted as a method to improve behaviour, enhance performance and health and allows the dog to learn willingly. It helps establish a deeper rapport and more effective connection and understanding between humans and their animals. The circular TTouches can reduce fear and pain, enhance cellular function, communication and support healing potential.
Ace Freework®
ACE (Animal Centred Education) Free Work, developed by Sarah Fisher, is dog-led and offers amazing benefits for your pet. It allows dogs to take part and engage in activities at their own pace. This method is good for growing your dog’s confidence, learning lots about them and strengthening a bond.
The method involves building an obsticle course with various surfaces and placing various treat/toy components like a Kong, Licki mat, snuffle mat, loose treats and watching your dog navigate the course. It will tell me a lot about them, such as their their general movement and agility, plus their likes and dislikes. Do they like the Kong with peanut butter? do they enjoy the licki mat with cheese spread on? Do they spend more time walking on certain surfaces more than others? What toys do they engage with the most? if any? This will allow me to come up with some Free Work groom ideas they’ll really love.
Whilst this type of activity can help any dog, it’s particularly good for nervous/anxious pets,
